The Forgotten Prisoner of Castle-Mare was the last of the original monsters from Aurora. In a joint venture between Aurora and Warren Publishing, Warren published Famous Monsters of Filmland, Creepy and Eerie magazines. They would begin publishing Vampirella in a couple more years. This kit was designed by the staff at Famous Monsters and their logo was featured on the cover and the kit along with Aurora's. As the story goes, FM publisher Jim Warren got tired of people constantly asking what the story was behind the Prisoner. He assigned a team in 1970 to come up with a story to explain the chained up skeleton and in the August 1970 issue of Creepy (#34) it was published.

Johnny West Corner
Sheriff Garrett
After Sam Cobra ran rampant for about a year, Sheriff Garrett was hired in 1973. The Sheriff used the Bill Buck body in blue with a star added to the chest pocket. He had Johnny accessories with the addition of 2 silver stars. His head was new tooling and is said to resemble Dean Martin. I really like this guy. He is cool in a Dean Martin, with a mustache, I am gonna be drunk by the time the sun goes down kind of way. If you have seen any of the westerns Dean was in, you know what I mean. Additonally, he was the first figure I owned with a rifle colored anything other than brown or black. That carried a lot weight in the old days :)
